Become a member of the Friends of Faver-Dykes State Park, Inc. and share in the special opportunity to be a part of an organization whose focus is the development of the park.
The Friends of Faver-Dykes State Park, Inc. is
a community based not for profit Citizens Support Organization (CSO).
Friends of Faver-Dykes State Park, Inc. like all Florida State Parks,
has programs and physical needs that go beyond the States ability to
provide funding.
CSO's are designed to provide volunteers to assist the Park Manager with work projects, to service as guides, and to promote and develop special events, as well as educational opportunities.
A CSO can also raise funds: seek and receive grants; accept gifts and bequest of money, tangible property and real property, to benefit its park. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the Faver-Dykes State Park, Inc. SC# 12497
PLAN OF ACTION -
The Friends of Faver-Dykes State Park is a relatively new organization, being chartered in September of 2000. Our goals continue to expand, but include:
Promoting the
virtues of the park to a larger audience, through press
releases, park activities and off-site educational experiences.
Increase the
available number of multi-use hiking trails and primitive
campsites.
Support the
Park through ongoing volunteer assistance and community
outreach.
Provide
educational signage and literature for self guided hiking tours,
stressing history and environmental stewardship.
Participate
in Earth Day celebrations for increased environmental
consciousness.
Increase the
availability of guided Kayak Eco-Tours.
Create an
outreach program for the environmental education of children.
Help fund and
upgrade informational literature and signage within the park.
Develop a
Friends of Faver-Dykes State Park web site to increase interest
and stewardship of the facility.
You are invited to
join and help us make a difference! Become a member of The Friends of
Faver-Dykes State Park and help polish our "Undiscovered Gem".
